Day 01: Dar es Salaam — Nyerere National Park

Day Itinerary
AM pickup from your Dar es Salaam City Hotel or meet direct at Nyerere Int Airport. You will meet our representative at the airport, assist checking your schedule flight to take a flight to Selous Game Reserve. On arrival in Selous, you will be met by camp vehicle and transfer to your camp for freshen and lunch, enjoy en-route game viewing. Afternoon begins with your first game drive of Nyerere Park in open camp vehicle

Nyerere National Park
Formerly the northern part of Selous Game Reserve, Tanzania’s Nyerere National Park is Africa’s largest National Park. Stretching over an impressive 30,893 square kilometres, the park is home to some of the world’s largest concentrations of wildlife, and the incredible diversity and sheer volume of animals draw visitors from around the globe. Travellers can look forward to spotting a wide collection of common and rare species including the famous Big Five, some rare species of antelopes like Roan Antelope, and large concentrations of elephant and hippos. Do not miss the opportunity to take a boating safari on the exquisite Rufiji River, spot the endangered African wild dog, and enjoy a guided walking safari with a highly knowledgeable guide.

Day 02: Nyerere National Park (Selous)

Day Itinerary
You will have a full day in the Selous Game Reserve, staying at the Tented Lodge overlooking the gorge of Rufiji River Camp. Exploration of the Reserve by 4-wheel drive vehicle, boat and on foot. The Selous, famous for its elephants, was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant but shyer than the Northern Parks. Our foot safari will give us a particularly intimate feel for the African wilds, while our excursions by Landover will allow us to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of the vast park. We will discover the Rufiji River by boat, encounter hippos and crocodiles in good numbers. Some 350 bird species have been recorded in the Selous Game Reserve. These are typical of miombo woodland, and the bird life supported by Rufiji swamplands is of particular interest.

Day 03: Nyerere National Park (Selous)

Day 04: Nyerere National Park (Selous) — Ruaha National Park

Day Itinerary
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your schedule flight to Ruaha National Park.
On arrival, you will be met by camp vehicle and transfer to your camp for freshen and lunch, enjoy en-route game viewing. The afternoon begins with a game drive of Ruaha Park.

Overnight: Jongomero Tented Camps

Ruaha National Park
Following its 2008 merger with Usangu Game Reserve and other notable wetlands, Ruaha is counted among Tanzania’s biggest national parks, spanning more than 20,000 km². It is also a sizeable elephant haven and home to buffalo, huge populations of lion, leopard, and a profusion of bird species, including kingfishers, plovers, egrets, hornbills, and sunbirds. Crocodiles and hippos thrive in the Great Ruaha River, which flows along the sanctuary’s eastern border and in the dry season between July and November, animals flock to the last remaining water sources, presenting an exceptional wildlife spectacle. There are few accommodation options available but some close for the wet season in March and April.

Day 05: Ruaha National Park

Day Itinerary
you explore the park for a full day by 4-wheel drive vehicle, by boat and on foot. The Ruaha River is a scenic delight and a magnet for wildlife in staggering numbers, Elephant reign supreme. Hippos en masse are guaranteed. Kudu, eland, giraffe, and dik-dik thrive in abundance

Day 06: Ruaha National Park

After early breakfast, transfers to Jongomero Airstrip for your schedule flight to Nyerere Int Airport, Dar es Salaam.
