11 Days & 10 Nights Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park (Central & Southern Serengeti)

Day 01: Kilimanjaro International Airport – Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge, Arusha

Day Itinerary
On your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our representative meet and welcome guests at the airport, and transfers to your hotel. After checking in, you will be briefed about your next 10 days program and introduction with your driver/guide. Tour driver is experienced wildlife expert whose knowledge and ability to spot animals and birds will astound you. Day at leisure, relax and enjoy lodge facilities.

Arusha
Resting at the foot of Mount Meru, the sprawling city of Arusha is known as the safari capital of northern Tanzania. It serves as an excellent base from which to explore the remarkably scenic surrounding area which includes majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. Arusha is a good spot to take a day or two off from the safari circuit as it features a temperate climate and lush surrounds. Visitors can look forward to exploring the wildlife-abundant Serengeti National Park; the magnificent Arusha National Park; and taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Meru, Africa’s fifth highest mountain.

Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge
Located in the middle of a verdant coffee plantation, Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge is a sanctuary of aromatic tranquillity and a welcome retreat after a long international flight, or the dust and excitement of a thrilling bush safari. Day 02: Arusha City – Tarangire National Park

Day Itinerary
After breakfast, you continue to Tarangire National Park, enjoy en-route game viewing to your lodge, arrive in time for freshen and lunch. Afternoon begins with your first wildlife game drive of Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park, situated within Tanzania’s spectacular Manyara Region, is an awe-inspiring national park forming of granite ridges, river valleys, mixed vegetative landscapes, and free-roaming wildlife. During the annual dry season, the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife. Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest, and eland gather and not surprisingly the predators follow. With lion being among the most spotted animal, it is a rare day that a visitor does not spot this majestic animal prowling or grazing. Tarangire is also the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as oryx and gerenuk are seen regularly. This expansive area is also known for its spectacular baobab trees, its breathtaking views of the Maasai Steppe and the wondrous mountains to the south.

Day 03: Tarangire National Park

Day Itinerary
Full Day Game Drives of Tarangire National Park.
PM return to lodge for lunch followed by afternoon game drive.

Day 04: Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

Day Itinerary
After breakfast, enjoy en-route game viewing to Ngorongoro Crater, arrive in time at camp for freshen and lunch, followed by PM at leisure, enjoy camp facilities and evening over dinner.

Ngorongoro Crater
Located in Northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater is best known for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife, which makes it one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. Surrounded by Tanzania’s highlands, this UNESCO-listed crater is said to be the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Visitors can look forward to spotting the world-renowned Big Five and a host of other wildlife species including large herds of zebra and wildebeest. It is famed as one of Tanzania’s best tourist attractions offering visitors an array of wonderful activities including excellent bird watching, trekking, wildlife viewing, mountain biking and visiting a local Maasai village. Do not miss the opportunity to jump on an excursion to the magnificent Olduvai Gorge.

Lake Magadi
Not to be confused with the Kenyan lake of the same name set only a hundred kilometres away, the Tanzanian Lake Magadi is an exquisite soda lake in the Ngorongoro Crater, named the Swahili word for salt. This is a wonderful destination for nature photographers, a scene that changes exquisitely through the seasons, moving through lush greens into striking oranges and bright pinks. Along with the changes come captivating, changing groups of animals including rhino, eland, and lion, as well as golden jackals who come to hunt the flamingos. Spread over 11.2 square kilometres, the lake cultivates a unique ecosystem with its blue-green algae, which nourishes the plants and small creatures here. The surrounding crater is filled with incredible other natural attractions and a much wider variety of wildlife.

Day 05: Ngorongoro Crater

Day Itinerary – Full Day Crater Game Drive
After early breakfast you descend 2000 ft – 610m down the crater floor for a full day game drive. it is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls rising 610m from the crater floor, its natural amphitheatre measures about 19km across diameter and has an area of 260 sq.km. it is impossible to give fair description of the crater. On the crater floor, roams thousands of plain animals, elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, rhino, velvet monkey and predators including hyenas and black maned lion. Late afternoon returns at lodge, time for relaxation and enjoy evening over dinner.

Day 06: Ngorongoro Crater – Serengeti National Park (Central Serengeti)

Day Itinerary
After breakfast, you drive to Serengeti National Park, a vast rolling plain whose sparse vegetation allows for some of the best wildlife viewing in the world. The annual migration of wildebeest and zebra is one of the park’s great attractions, but throughout the year the Serengeti is excellent for seeing predators such as lion, leopard, and cheetah, along with elephant, giraffe, hyena, hippo, rhino, and many varieties of antelopes and birds. En-route optional visit to Olduvai Gorge (at an added cost). Arrive in time at camp for freshen and lunch. After lunch, enjoy game drive of the Serengeti National Park.

Central Serengeti
Situated in the heart of Tanzania, the Central Serengeti encompasses the world-famous Seronera Valley which is known for its prime wildlife-viewing opportunities. This picture-perfect landscape is characterised by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite and scattered with acacia woodlands and covered in a network of rivers and streams. The Central Serengeti forms part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval and much more. Popular activities include game viewing, cultural tours, horse riding safaris, and hot air ballooning over the spectacularly scenic terrain.

Day 07: Central Serengeti National Park

Day Itinerary
Thrilling day of game viewing will take you to prime areas of the Serengeti to see the world’s largest annual migration. You will see the biggest annual migration of wildebeest. You will also get the opportunity to see all the ‘Big Five.’

Day 08: Central Serengeti – Serengeti National Park (Southern Serengeti)

Day Itinerary
After breakfast, you will drive for southern part of Serengeti National Park and enjoy en-route game viewing to your luxury camp. Arrive in time for freshen and lunch. PM time to relax and enjoy camp facilities, later you will enjoy an evening game drive of the reserve.

Alternate: Serengeti River Camp

Southern Serengeti
Northern Tanzania’s Southern Serengeti, together with Kenya’s Maasai Mara Game Park, form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The image of acacia trees on an endless grass plain epitomises Africa for many. The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. Large prides of lions, and herds of elephants, giraffes, gazelles, and eland can be seen, making for some phenomenal photography opportunities. Hot air balloon rides provide further inspiration. Visitors can also look forward to cultural tours to delve into the rich heritage of the Masai people.

Day 09: Southern Serengeti National Park

Day Itinerary
After breakfast, enjoy full day game drive of the Serengeti Plains.
OPTION ‘A’ return at camp for lunch, later enjoy afternoon game drive
OPTION’B’ enjoy full day game dry with packed picnic lunch box.

Day 10: Southern Serengeti National Park

Day 11: Serengeti National Park – Arusha City

Day Itinerary
You take an early game drive of the park and drive back to your camp for freshen and breakfast and then continue to Seronera Airstrip for your schedule flight to Arusha City. On arrival, our representative to receive and welcome guests and enjoy lunch before transfers to your Arusha City Hotel / JRO Int Airport.
